The First Day
Year 0
The Demiurge formed Gondwaya out of the bones of discarded worlds.
The barrier between Earth and Gondwaya is particularly weak, which has allowed travel between the two dimensions at various times. At the present time, Gondwaya has had very little influence on Earth (though that will change in the future), but Earth, and humanity, have made a mark on Gondwaya.
The Demiurge formed Gondwaya out of the bones of discarded worlds.
Scholars dispute whether life arose through natural means, or arrived from another world, or was brought into being by the Demiurge. There are no written records for this time (the old Fey saw no need for writing), but the eldest of them remember. Most life was not humanoid; the Fey usually took the form of natural phenomena, animals, or plants.
Based on the ruins in the Great Desert, it is believed that the first humans to enter Gondwaya belonged to a mesopotamian civilization. While this civilization was wiped out in the mage wars that followed the departure of Eudaimonia, the human concept of society followed its survivors.
The first human civilization in Gondwaya failed. Still, the Fey who came into contact with them were changed; those who mingled with humans began to form small groups and use written language to communicate. Some fragmentary writings survive, but the idea of creating records for future generations or studying the past was not considered. The present-day elves consider themselves to be the descendants of these groups and the oldest of the surviving Fey, aside from minor gods such as the Winds and the Worldheart.
The Roman ninth legion vanishes from Earth and enters Gondwaya. With it comes a previously unknown philosophy of history. The Book of Spheres is begun during this time.
